Mr. Abhay Ketkar / MayCap acted as the Project Management Officer (PMO) for USD 5 billion landmark Nacala Corridor Railway and Port Project, an integrated and transformative infrastructure project supporting growth along a regional corridor shared by Mozambique and Malawi.

The transaction won the ‘Infrastructure Deal of the Year’ by African Banker, the ‘Logistics Deal of the Year’ award by Project Finance International, and the African Transport Deal of the Year award by IJ Global.”

Abhay has more than 25 years of financial advisory, structuring and lead arranger experience in international project finance. Throughout his investment banking career, Abhay has worked extensively on energy and infrastructure sector corporate and project financing transactions across Africa, Asia, Middle East and Europe. His experience involves commercial and financial advisory and structuring work with public and private sector entities on transactions involving Export Credit Agencies, Developmental Finance Institutions, international and local commercial banks, capital market issuances, and Public (Government) Ministry and/or Agencies.


Prior to founding MayCap, Abhay was Regional head, Project & Export Finance-West Africa for Standard Chartered Bank, London and head of Power and Infrastructure EMEA for ANZ Investment Bank, London.
